Rachel O’Neil

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist 149672

Schooling and Training: I obtained my BA in Sociology from Cal State Fullerton and my MA in Counseling Psychology from National University. I received training and experience in LGBTQ+ affirming care from the LGBTQ Center OC

Therapeutic Focus: My therapeutic focus is LGBTQ+ affirming care, adult adoptees, trauma, grief, personality disorders, and couples therapy, with an emphasis on lesbian relationships.

Approach to Therapy: I believe you are the expert of your own story. I come from a place of compassion and curiosity and aim to facilitate insight and awareness that help you heal and live a life of intention.

I use a trauma-informed, integrative approach that includes attachment theory, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Rather than focusing on “getting over it”, I encourage my clients to sit with it, feel it, and give it the space it deserves.

I believe you are and have always been worthy and deserving of love. “You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection” – Buddha.

Whatever space you’re in, I welcome you.

Fun Facts About Me: As a member of the LGBTQ community and an adoptee, I bring a unique and informed experience to my practice. I enjoy traveling, yoga sculpt, stand-up comedy, nature, and spending time with my sweet pup.

Fees: $160 for individuals and $190 for couples
